The Lizard peninsular is the very last bit of undiscovered Cornwall. Almost completely surrounded by water and way off the main route through to Lands End it has a massive coast line and beautiful empty countryside.
The Campsite
Roskilly’s is another piece of this landscape that has remained unchanged for generations. However, the current generation hit culinary gold when they decided to churn their creamy Jersey milk into ice-cream. The farm is open to the public these days, but this does not interfere with the traditional farming methods and lazy landscape that are the fabric of this working organic farm.
The Love Lane campsite is a short stroll down the lane from the farm’s main centre of activity. It is a small meadow set between quiet green fields flanked only by the odd donkey or cow. But from it you can stroll to the local village of St Keverne, or a little further to two delightful beaches.
The Classic Caravans
The lovingly restored caravans all have their own character and charm. They are set in a horseshoe facing down towards a big open fire pit that comes to life after dark. Next to the fire is a BBQ and nearby are toilets and a shower cubicle for hot showers. Cotton hammocks are strung from the big trees that line the field, and small dens await discovery by the little people. This is simple living; with no electricity provided for lighting onsite. Instead, paraffin lamps and fires brighten the night sky.
All of our caravans are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable and authentic classic caravan holiday including freshly pressed linen, paraffin lamps, torches, tea sets, games, and fully equipped kitchens with gas fridge and cooker.
Showman’s Wagon
We also have the fantastic 70sShowman’s Wagon on our land near Constantine. This chandeliered and wood paneled gypsy palace has an internal bathroom (with gold taps) and a wood burning stove. It provides very comfortable living for up to 3 people.
Wedding Belles
If you are planning on getting hitched in Cornwall, why not have your ‘wedding festival’ at the Love Lane Camp? There is plenty of room for a marquee, and the happy couple and guests can be accommodated in style and choose between one of the classic caravans – or their own tent.
